Methodist Healthcare System is a 50-50 co-ownership between Methodist Healthcare Ministries, South Texas’ largest non-public funding source of community health care, contributing $976 million since 1995; and HCA Healthcare, the nation’s leading provider of health care services. Methodist Hospital/Northeast is one of the system’s nine acute care hospitals.

Methodist Hospital/Northeast has played a major role in the phenomenal economic growth experienced in northeast Bexar, Guadalupe, and Comal Counties. Since its acquisition in 1995, the facility has undergone significant renovations to completely upgrade and expand the facility and services to better meet the needs of the surrounding communities. Methodist Hospital/NE continues to evolve and enhancing our patients’ experiences with cutting-edge technology and highly skilled, innovative team.

Medical specialties include advanced cardiovascular care, neurosurgery, orthopedic and joint replacement surgeries, emergency care and inpatient rehabilitation. Methodist Hospital/Northeast is a 237-bed facility, and 6 operating suites. In 2020-21, Methodist added 60 inpatient beds and 2021 the expansion included a new hybrid OR, renovation of EP suites, and a parking expansion. The 2023 expansion project added 4 operating rooms and an outpatient surgery center.
